A New Heaven and a New Earth
Creating a German version of Sven-David Sandström’s A New Heaven and a New Earth. The result was a high-quality and stylish score with perfectly matched German lyrics.

Gehrmans Musikförlag commissioned the creation of a German version of Sven-David Sandström’s A New Heaven and a New Earth with a new translation by Morten Schuldt-Jensen.
Part of the task was to ensure that the German lyrics matched the original music, adjusting note values, extenders, and slurs to ensure they were in sync with the new text. Creating the graphic notation was a unique challenge that required custom work.
Having aligned the music, graphic notation, and the new German lyrics, the final score was typeset using Opus, Palatino Linotype, and Berling Nova Sans Pro to match the publisher’s house style.
The result was a score of the same high quality and style as the original but with German lyrics that perfectly matched the music.
